Kneauxing the Enemy 2018

Game Ten

Arkansas

2-7 Overall, 0-5 in SEC

Arkansas is a bad football team. Their two wins are over Eastern Illinois and Tulsa. They have yet to win a league contest. They have given up 913 yards rushing in their five SEC losses, an average of 182.6 yards per game. Their average margin of loss per game in SEC play is 24 points.

The Razorbacks have some good players on defense. Junior linebacker De’Jon Harris leads the conference in tackles with 93, 50 solos. Senior Santos Ramirez is eighth in the SEC in tackles with 64, 35 solos. Senior defensive back Ryan Pulley is tied for second in the league with three interceptions.

On offense there are no standouts for the Hogs. Sophomore Rakeem Boyd is a solid runner. Boyd has rushed for 615 yards on the season, with an average of 6.5 yards per carry. Junior La’Michael Pettway is the leading receiver on the team. He has 354 yards in receptions so far this season. Pettway averages 16.9 yards per catch.

Junior Ty Storey has been the quarterback most of the season for Arkansas. He has thrown for 1223 yards for the year. Storey has nine touchdown passes, but seven interceptions.

The Arkansas offensive line, usually one of the best in the country, is not that great. Senior right tackle Brian Wallace has been a two year starter for the Hogs.

Usually, the Arkansas game is tough because the Hogs are good, and the Purple and Gold are coming off a physical and emotional high after playing Alabama. However, Arkansas has been so bad all year, it is hard to imagine them striking fear into anybody. Despite having a lousy defense, they do tackle better than Old Miss. But, games are won and lost on the field regardless of the record of the teams. As funny as it may be, teams can improve, even though they are losing, and that does not necessarily show up in the stats. Also, Arkansas may have players, who have not played much, but may play well if given a chance to play.

The Purple and Gold still have a chance to win 10 or 11 games this year, and play in a major bowl. As unbelievable as it might sound, the Tigers are still in the national title hunt, but they would need help from other teams to realize that goal. So, they still have to be ready to play Saturday.
